I hate ska revival but love old school Jamaican ska and English skinhead jams. No checkers for me but plenty of Ben Sherman plaid shirts. My kids fall asleep to Desmond Dekker every night.

I remember the first time my dad ever played me the “The Harder They Come” soundtrack. That, Sandinista!, and ...And Out Come the Wolves are probably the 3 albums that have most shaped my musical tastes.

I started off playing a lot of my music for my daughters, but as they’ve gotten older they want to hear other girls singing. I’ve been a lot of riot grrrl tunes for them (Bikini Kill type stuff). They love it.

I saw Less Than Jake last month! It was awesome! I am disappointed in myself that after listening to them for 17 years this was the first time I have been to one of their shows.

I bought that album the week it came out - summer before my senior year of high school. I still have the CD sitting around. Saw them at Lollapalooza ‘96. Got punched in the head in the moshpit by some big marine guy with a nipple ring. Then I accidentally felt a girl from my high school’s boob in the rain room. Saw this band too:

They sucked.
